IMF to approve Ghana's $ 1 billion tomorrow
Audrey Micah, Ghanadot

Accra, July 14, Ghanadot - The Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will tomorrow meet to approve the 1-billion-dollar request from Ghana.

Government is expected to receive about a half of the amount immediately after approval from the IMF board and parliament.

When approved the funds are expected to come in to support the country’s balance of payments and stabilized the economy.

Ghana's Finance Ministry hopes that the approval will come in time for Parliament to approve it before it rises for recess this Friday.

The facility comes after Ghana secured another $535 million from the World Bank also for budgetary support.
