THE DEATH OF MRS. FLORENCE ASHICHOO OSABU-KLE

Mrs Florence Ashichoo Osabu-Kle,Passed away Sunday,May,10 2009 in Ottawa,Canada. She was 66 years.  She is survived by Ret. Wing Commander in Ghana and a Prof.Daniel Osabu-Kle of Carleton University,husband, daughters Theresa Osabu-Kle, Grace Osabu-Kle,Mercy Osabu-Kle, sons Emmanuel Osabu-Kle, and Daniel Osabu-Kle-Jr. Grand Children,Victoria and Thomas.

Mrs. Florence Osabu-Kle, was the eleventh and the last born of Nii Akrong Odametey of the royal family of Teshie in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana and Naa Mary Merley Okai also of Teshie.

Her father died when when she was only three months old and was raised by her mother. She attended the Presbyterian Mission School at Teshie and proceeded to train as a nurse-midwife at the Okonfo Anokye Hospital at Kumasi. She served at the Tema General hospital, the Efia-Nkwanta Hospital of Secondi and finally at the Military
Hospital where she later became a Nursing Sister. In 1987,she joined her husband at Carleston University in Canada.

Mrs Florence Osabu-Kle was a humble and dedicated Christian who loved and lived by the Beatititudes.She was fond of children.

Florence and her husband founded the non-denominational Universal Christian Prayer Group (UCPG) dedicated to humanitarian work in Ghana. In 1974,Florence insisted upon using the family’s land at Teshie to establish a non-profit school for children. In recognition of her initiative, the school was named after Forence and Daniel hence
Flodan International Academy. She played an active role in the Presbyterian of Ghana and Canada. At the Erskine Presbyterian Church of Ottawa, she was an Elder and helped with the children’s Sunday Service. In 2007,she went to Ghana to serve at the school which was dear to her. She returned to Canada in July 2008.Florence passed away convinced that with “GOD’S GRACE” the works that were dear to her will continue.

The funeral arrangements of Florence Osabu-Kle: Friday,May,29th
Pay your respect from 6pm- 9pm in the Pinecrest Visitation centre
2500 Baseline Road. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 30th at 10am in Westminister Presbyterian Church,470 Roosevelt Avenue,Ottawa,followed by burial in Pinecrest Cemetery.

A memorial fund in support of needy children will be established at Westminster Prebyterian Church. For more information please call Prof. Daniel Osabu-Kle, 613-798-0014, Canada.
