Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo visits Ashanti Region

Dadieso (Ash), Feb.28, Ghanadot/GNA-Hundreds of supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have formally welcomed Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo the party’s flagbearer to the Ashanti Region at a colourful durbar at Dadieso in the Asante-Akyem South District.

Among those present at the durbar were Mr. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah, Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Osei Assibey, Deputy Regional Ashanti Minister, Madam Patricia Appiagyei, Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Chief Executive as well as Asante Akyem North and South Executives of the party.

Hours before of the arrival of Nana Akufo-Addo, party faithful, clad in party colours, sang and danced to brass band music to the admiration of the commuters who could not help but toot their horns on reaching the venue.

Nana Akufo-Addo, who arrived in the company of most of the candidates who contested with him for the flagbearership in December 2007 said, their presence demonstrated unity in the party.

He said unity was the strong point of the party and urged the supporters to rally behind the party in a quest to maintain political power in the forth-coming elections.

He noted that with hard work and dedication the party was bound for victory and called on members to put their differences aside and fight for a common goal.

The flagbearer further entreated supporters of the party who had turned 18 years to register in their numbers, stressing that their support alone would not secure victory for the party if they failed to register.
