for man
for
allegedly
murdering
wife

– Police
at
Dormaa
Ahenkro
have
mounted
a search
for
Kwabena
Amponsah,
alias
Gambo, a
37-year-old
farmer
of
Sumamantukwa,
near
Nkrankwanta
in the
Dormaa
Municipality,
for
allegedly
murdering
his
wife.
Amponsah
was
believed
to have
severed
the left
arm of
Madam
Akosua
Kyeremaa,
35, and
inflicted
several
deep
cutlass
wounds
on the
body,
killing
her
instantly,
following
a
misunderstanding
between
the
couple,
when the
woman
accused
the
husband
of
having
extra
marital
relationship.
Mr.
Sylvester
Gyamfi,
chairman
of the
Unit
Committee
at
Sumamantukwa,
told the
GNA at
Dormaa
Ahenkro
that on
November
28 this
year,
Amponsah
visited
his
girlfriend
at
Kwabenakrakrom,
a
farming
community
in the
municipality.
Mr
Gyamfi
said
Madam
Kyeremaa
quarrelled
with the
husband
when he
returned
to
Sumamantukwa
the
following
morning
and
residents
intervened
to cool
down
tempers.
The Unit
Committee
chairman
said
moments
later,
people
heard
shouts
for help
from the
direction
of the
couple’s
home and
a crowd
rushed
there
only to
find the
deceased
lying in
a pool
of blood
with the
arm
severed
and
mutilated
body.
Mr.
Gyamfi
said
Amponsah
bolted
after
committing
the
crime
and all
attempts
to
arrest
him have
proved
futile.
The Unit
Committee
chairman
said he
led a
team to
convey
the body
of Madam
Kyeremaa
to the
Presbyterian
Hospital
at
Dormaa
Ahenkro.
Mr.
Gyamfi
said the
woman
was
declared
dead on
arrival
at the
hospital
and her
body had
been
deposited
in the
mortuary
for
autopsy.
When GNA
contacted
Detective
Sergeant
Charles
Agovi of
the
Dormaa
Ahenkro
police
station,
he
confirmed
the
incident
and said
security
personnel
were
making
efforts
to
apprehend
Amponsah.
