SoftMaths an ICT tool for Mathematics at JSS inaugurated in Accra

Accra, Nov.20, GNA – SoftMaths, the first Information Communication Technology (ICT) tool for the teaching and learning of Mathematics at Junior Secondary School (JSS) level in the country, has been inaugurated at Saint Margaret Mary Secondary School at Dansoman, a suburb of Accra.

It was conceived and designed by Mr Justice Annan, a Tutor of the school to address problems in teaching and learning Mathematics.
Mr Ishmael Tetteh Aryeetey, Head of ICT at the school stressed the need for students to take keen interest in Mathematics.

He advised them to disabuse their minds of the wrong notion that Mathematics was a difficult subject to learn.

Mr Aryeetey, a Former Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive urged students to devote much time and attention to the learning of Mathematics and appealed to parents and guardians to endeavour to purchase SoftMaths for their children and wards to motivate them to learn Mathematics.

Mr Annan was optimistic that other devices would be developed to assist in the teaching and learning of Mathematics and other subjects in schools.
