Bahmed Travel and Tours denies any wrong doing in Mubarak saga

Accra, June 10, Ghanadot/GNA – The Solicitor of Bahmed Travel and Tours Limited, one of the travel agencies of the Ministry of Youth and Sports has said that, it has over the years conducted clean and unblemished business with the Ministry, thereby denying any wrong doing in the ongoing saga of financial impropriety and fraudulent activities at the Ministry.

Prince Fredrick Nii Ashe-Neequaye, Solicitor for Bahmed Travel and Tours, in reaction to allegations made by the embattled Minister of Youth and Sports, Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, which sought to suggest wrong doing on the part of the agency in the saga that has rocked the ministry, described the allegations as “unfortunate and regrettable.

According to the solicitor, Bahmed Travel and Tours was embarrassed and surprised by the defamatory remarks made by the Minister, adding that the statement by the minister was an attempt to question the credibility of the Agency.

It added that Bahmed Travel and Tours has in all dealings with the Ministry been diligent and forthright in meeting the rigorous requirements of the Ministry having been appointed in a competitive bidding with forty other Travel and Tour Firms.

The solicitor said the Minister in his response used various deceptive measures to suppress the truth on the grounds to make his story look credible.

It said the agency despite these false and malicious comments on June 5th made urgent and frantic arrangements to ensure that confirmed bookings for the Black Stars on their impending trip to Kenya and Sudan are assured after other agents contacted by the Ministry had disappointed them at the eleventh hour.

The solicitor further stated that, Bahmed Travel and Tours will make itself available for any form of investigations into the matter and has subsequently suspended any further transactions with the Ministry in order to protect its good name and reputation in the travel and tour business.
