The New Patriotic Party (NPP) congratulates Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,
our 2008 Vice Presidential Candidate, and former Deputy Governor
of the Bank of Ghana, for his appointment as the Resident
Representative of the African Development Bank (AfDB) in
Zimbabwe. It is another feather in the cap of Ghanaian
excellence.
With the absence of any Bretton Wood institution in the country,
it is the fervent expectation of all that his engagement as AfDB
country director will fast track the Southern African country’s
economic recovery and pave the way for its full re-engagement
with the international community. We are confident in Dr
Bawumia’s abilities and are grateful to the African Development
Bank and its collaborator, the South African Development
Community (SADC) for recognising them.
Further we hope his contribution will benefit the growth of the
Zimbabwean economy, considering his proven international track
record of innovation, intellectual, economic and managerial
acumen.
AYEKOO!!!
